Round 2 Goes the Distance, Milwaukee (DSL) Prevails
|
Dominican Rookie League fans were certainly not disappointed with this Dominican Rookie League Round 2.
The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Milwaukee (DSL) Brewers prevailing over the San Diego (DSL) Padres 1 to advance to the Round 3.
Milwaukee (DSL) won the final game by a score of 6-3 at Milwaukee Brewers Complex and that sealed the series 2-1.
"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said right fielder Marços Pires, who earned MVP honors.
For the series, Pires hit .600 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 1 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Milwaukee (DSL) Brewers will play against the Seattle (DSL) Mariners in the next round. Seattle (DSL) won their series against the New York N (DSL) Mets 2 2 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
