Longhorns Cruise to Round 3 with Sweep Saturday, May 14th , 2050 It's a sweet sweep for the Ankara College Longhorns and they have won the Round 2. The Orenburg College Makos were not able to keep pace with the Longhorns and dropped the series in short order, losing, 16-8, in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Orenburg College manager Orrin Averoff. It's now on to the Round 3 for Ankara College after their 4-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was shortstop Baptiste Porte, who was named MVP. For the series, Porte hit .533 with a .611 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Ankara College Longhorns don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Barnaul College Whiskeyjacks - Istanbul College Phantoms series. Istanbul College leads the series 3 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
