Barnaul College Advances to Round 2 Monday, May 9th , 2050 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Barnaul College Whiskeyjacks have edged the Konya College Mud Hens. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Round 1, with a 9-2 win in the clincher being the difference for Barnaul College and giving them the ticket to the Round 2 with a 4-3 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Rudko Stojsic, who was named series MVP. For the series, Stojsic hit .520 with a .552 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Barnaul College Whiskeyjacks will play against the Istanbul College Phantoms in the next round. Istanbul College won their series against the Novosibirsk College Knighthawks 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
