Cliff Divers Spank Cadets, 13-0 Friday, June 13th , 2053 In an outstanding mound performance, Avignon Cliff Divers starter Gennaro Garin fired a complete-game shutout against the Velyka Znamyanka Cadets at Avignon Bluffs. Garin was the key to the 13-0 Avignon win. The 24-year-old left-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 3 hits and 1 walk he allowed. "3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout." Checking out his stats for the year, Garin has racked up 8 wins and 2 losses in 13 starts, posted a 3.48 ERA, and struck out 91 batters in 82.2 innings. |
