Atomics Heading to World Series Thursday, September 15th , 2050 The Pripyat Atomics are riding high after winning the League Championship Series and eliminating the Avignon Cliff Divers by a series score of 4-1. The final blow came tonight at Firebirds Park, when Pripyat secured its spot in the World Series with a 20-5 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said third baseman Emil Nyvlt, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Nyvlt certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .524 with a .524 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 3 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Pripyat Atomics don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Zolote Pole Mammoths - Hohenschwangau Swans series. Hohenschwangau leads the series 3 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
