Wedyaskin on Fire: 5-for-5 for Dnipro College
Bogdashka Wedyaskin was at the head of a Dnipro College hit parade today at Jazz Park. The right fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Jazz to a 16-6 victory over the Izmir College Night Hawks.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Wedyaskin told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Night Hawks skipper Ulu Derbil said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."



This season Wedyaskin is swinging the bat at a .331 pace. He has hit 6 home runs and scored 22 times, while driving in 24. His on-base percentage is .385 and he has played in 47 games.
