Díaz Socks It to Vancouver 3 Times
Friday, August 22nd , 2070
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Gonzalo Díaz did at Nat Bailey Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 16-1.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Díaz said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The Vermont Lake Monsters left fielder blistered the Vancouver Canadians for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Vancouver manager Eric Fltskog said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Gonzalo Díaz hit a solo-shot off Leo Hvostyuk in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Leo Hvostyuk in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
This year, Díaz has hit at a .314 clip with 34 RBIs, 10 home runs and 31 runs scored.
