Wednesday, April 30th , 2070
Whatever Nyyrikki Toiviainen ate for breakfast before his game against the Idaho Falls Chukars, it gave him some impressive power.
The Burlington first baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Melaleuca Field. His home run barrage helped the Bees defeat the Chukars, 14-5.
"When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-5, scored 4 times, drove in 8 and put on a display that history will remember.
Nyyrikki Toiviainen walked in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Looking at his present stats, Toiviainen has compiled a .323 batting average in 17 games with a .463 on-base percentage, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 15 runs.
