Shorebirds Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep Sunday, September 20th , 2071 The Delmarva Shorebirds appear poised to make a serious run at the Round 3 after a convincing sweep over the Lake County Captains in the Round 1. It's now on to the Round 2 for Delmarva, who won the final game 9-3 and took the series 4-0. "Everyone's doing their part and things are falling into place," said Delmarva right fielder Yoshinaka Nakano, who was named series MVP. "It feels like a special year." For the series, Nakano hit .467 with a .474 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Delmarva Shorebirds will play against the Hickory Crawdads in the next round.
