Ratzlaff Slaps 5 Hits
Thursday, July 9th , 2071
Even as a kid, Paul Ratzlaff said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Calvin Falwell Field, Ratzlaff showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 24-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Bradenton Marauders, helping his team knock off the Clearwater Threshers by a score of 8-3.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Paul Ratzlaff singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Ratzlaff is hitting .301, produced 16 RBIs and 1 home runs, scored 16 times and gotten on base at a .368 rate.
