Hildred and Volkers Brawl, League Suspends Them Wednesday, August 29th , 2068 If there wasn't a history between Douggie Hildred of Tucson and Nees Volkers of Bradenton, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Hildred said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Thus far in 2068, Hildred is hitting .306 with 17 home runs, 64 RBIs, 53 runs scored and has compiled a .418 OBP. For the year, Volkers has saved 0 games while posting an ERA of 6.83 and 65 strikeouts in 56.2 innings. His totals also include a 3-2 record in 23 relief appearances. |
