The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Mets, 5-4, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. Doing his part was starter David Birss, who threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win moves Philadelphia into a 1-1 tie with New York in the series.

Tim Burford, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2065 draft, chipped in a solo home run for Philadelphia in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.

"We're happy," Burford told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
