The Lake Elsinore Storm "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Round 1 and eliminating the Bakersfield Blaze, according to series MVP José Martínez.

"This is the big stage, we're off to the Round 2 and looking towards the Round 3," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."

Lake Elsinore won the final game 10-6, to wrap up the series 4-2.

Martínez led his team to the series win by putting up a .320 average, with a .393 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Lake Elsinore Storm will play against the Lynchburg Hillcats in the next round. Lynchburg had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
