Rangers Squelch Astros Offense in Shutout Win
|
Texas Rangers pitcher Marx Zetter was all business, helping his team muzzle the Houston Astros, 6-0. The Rangers raised their record to 2-0.
Texas used a well-timed hit by Alan Ferguson to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
Texas manager Bill Richardson commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
