Acosta on Fire, 5-for-7 Against Corpus Christi
There was no storybook ending. Jaime Acosta of the Erie SeaWolves socked it to the visiting Corpus Christi Hooks with a terrific 5-hit game, but his team didn't get the win. The SeaWolves fell, 11-10, at Jerry Uht Park.

"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Acosta complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too."

He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 7 at-bats. Erie manager Max Bowles sympathized with his first baseman, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Jaime played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough."

Jaime Acosta hit a solo-shot off Tim Robbins in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Allen Burkett in the 9th, grounded out in the 10th, singled in the 13th and singled in the 14th.

Acosta is hitting at a .323 mark this season. His stats show 21 home runs, 56 RBIs and 73 runs scored. He has played 86 games for the SeaWolves.
