Sandoval Shines, Shuts Out Rochester, 5-0
|
Carlos Sandoval was dynamite at McCoy Stadium, blowing away the Rochester Red Wings in a shutout victory. The Pawtucket Red Sox starter had everything working as he held the Red Wings to 2 hits in the 5-0 win.
"He was pure nasty out there today," said Rochester skipper Andre Jensen. "I don't think any team in the league would've had a chance against what he was bringing."
Sandoval finished the game with 6 strikeouts and no walks.
To date this season, Sandoval has a record of 1 win and 2 losses and a 2.97 ERA. He has appeared in 5 games and struck out 27 in 36.1 innings.
