Mets Earn Late 4-3 Win
The New York Mets did just enough to sneak past the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-3, at Citi Field. New York pitcher Ron Blake, in particular, had a standout performance. New York reliever Tommy Potter snagged the win, upping his record to 8-2. Chris Gordon shouldered the loss. With the victory, the Mets upped their record to 93-65.

Danny Jones helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Mets.

Jones attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
