Red-Hot Rangers Win Again
|
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, dropping the Houston Astros, 4-3. Phil Greenhalgh, who is tied for 7th in the AL in complete games with 1, was the difference-maker. Greenhalgh, now 10-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Octávio Martínez recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 9 for 9.
Texas won the game in part because of Rob Montgomery. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-2. For the game, Montgomery had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Montgomery.
The winning streak has now reached 8 games for Texas.
