Yankees Suffer 6-3 Setback
The Texas Rangers locked up a win at RFK Stadium, knocking off the New York Yankees, 6-3. On the mound for Texas was right-hander Rob Lester. He played a major role in the triumph. Their 64-88 record puts the Rangers last in the American League Western Division.

Texas took a 4-3 lead on Dave Johnstone's 20th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Johnstone hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York pitcher José Paz visibly frustrated.

Johnstone attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
