The Las Vegas Athletics beat the Texas Rangers, 7-1, at RFK Stadium. Mathew Anderson starred for Las Vegas. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Turner. He tossed 84 pitches over 6 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits. The Athletics improved their record to 65-64 by beating Texas.
Odmar Steijn, who finished 2nd in the AL in doubles with 50 in 2068, aided the Las Vegas cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
