The Kansas City Royals weathered an outstanding game by Texas second baseman Izak Dekker to topple the Rangers, 8-7. Dekker was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Jibril bin Muhtadi snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-3 on the season. Rory Adamczak suffered the loss. At 45-42, the Royals are currently 4th in the American League Central Division.

Richard Scott came through with a big-time hit for Kansas City. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Fun game," said Scott, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
