Twins Down Astros, 2-1
|
The Minnesota Twins did just enough to secure a victory over the Houston Astros, 2-1, in 12 innings at Minute Maid Park. Nobody did more than pitcher August Eckert. With the win, Minnesota upped its record to 44-41.
Minnesota needed the clutch hitting of Ekmel Inci to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Twins on top, 2-1. For the game, Inci had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"That was a really good outing by August," said Minnesota manager Scott Kaplan.
