Braves Flatten Giants, 13-3
|
The Atlanta Braves soundly defeated the San Francisco Giants, 13-3, at Turner Field, with third baseman Gleb Jatzuba a major reason why. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Atlanta. Atlanta, at 38-35, is 2 games up in the National League Eastern Division.
Mike Francis was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Atlanta. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a 2-run single off Abdul-Hakam bin Badr al Din. It was his 98th hit of the season.
"No complaints from me," said Braves manager Jeff Racic. "I like what I saw out there."
