Sampson Rips Reno for 5 Hits
5 times is the charm -- at least for Jeff Sampson.

The El Paso Chihuahuas shortstop tore up the Reno Aces to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at PGE Park. The offensive onslaught from Sampson powered the 16-2 Chihuahuas win.

"Sampson was a tough out," Reno manager Hermann Frank said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

Jeff Sampson hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
