Ryan Wells got the glory and the headlines, but the Syracuse Chiefs left with the win. The Gwinnett first baseman easily handled the Chiefs pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Gwinnett Braves came out on the short end of the 11-10 score.

Wells told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.

"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."

Ryan Wells singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Walt Willis in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.

Wells is batting .298 this year with 12 home runs, 55 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has 67 hits in 225 at-bats.
