Benney Tags Sky Sox for 5 Hits
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.

Douggie Benney of the Gwinnett Braves had one such moment at Gwinnett County Ballpark, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Gwinnett succumbed to defeat, 10-6, to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 36-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."

Douggie Benney hit a solo-shot off Loren Yule in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.

Batting .339 to date, Benney has 5 home runs and 19 RBIs.
