Mariners Stymie Detroit, Take 4-1 Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners get after it.
Seattle Mariners starter Roberto García pitched a strong game against the Detroit Tigers at Safeco Field, leading the Mariners to victory, 4-1. Riyadh Kedar nailed down the save.
Kevin Davis came through for Seattle when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a two-strike slider to right field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said García.
The Mariners raised their record to 22-23.
