Red-Hot McLaughlin Scorches Astros
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Columbia's Bob McLaughlin made it happen against the Astros. Everything came together at the plate for the 21-year-old second baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and helped the Fireflies triumph, 15-3, at Silkworms Ballpark.

"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," McLaughlin said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."

Bob McLaughlin hit a solo-shot off Manny Espinosa in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Robbie Gordon in the 7th.

For the season, McLaughlin is batting .329 with 92 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 58 times and batted in 50.
