Behind the hitting of Bob Potter, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-3. Potter was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Phillies. With their winning streak at 6, the Phillies have raced to a strong start this season.
With Philadelphia trailing 1-0 in the top of the second, Potter hit a fastball from Fryderyk Vanska for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Phillies ahead, 3-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Potter said.
