5-4 Washington Win Thrills Crowd
|
The Washington Nationals did just enough to secure a victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-4, in 10 innings at Nationals Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Bob Benson. Alonso Pérez snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Riley Stuble suffered the loss. Washington, now 22-7, is playing great baseball to start the year.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Washington. That's when Tony Marrero hit a run-scoring double off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Riley Stuble to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"That was a lot of fun, watching both teams compete," said Nationals manager Chris Gattuso.
