Jankowski Hitless, Stopped by Texans Tuesday, January 5th , 2044 The Fontana Texans did something to Ben Jankowski no team had done for the last 25 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Turtles, who came away with the 11-3 victory at Ballpark of Fontana. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 25-year-old left fielder said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." In 30 games this season, Jankowski has batted at a .496 pace with 62 hits and 19 home runs. |
