Wood Boosts Hit Streak to 35 Games

Shawnee Hills second baseman Chris Wood keeps on racking up hits every time he plays.
His hitting streak now stands at 35 games after collecting 2 hits at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The Gators earned the 19-6 victory over the Newark Angels.
"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Wood said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Chris Wood hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th and walked in the 6th.
This season, Wood is swinging the bat at a .540 pace. He has hit 25 home runs and scored 59 times, while driving in 80. His on-base percentage is .671 and he has played in 34 games.
