Moore Bashes 3 HR for Orem Friday, September 16th , 2039 Orem Owlz third baseman Danny Moore put on a dazzling display of power today at Suplizio Field against the Grand Junction Rockies. In the 20-3 Owlz victory Moore penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Grand Junction manager Juan Diaz said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 23-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 10 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Moore said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Danny Moore hit a three-run home run off David Barcia in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th. Thus far this year Moore has hit .400 with 5 home runs and 19 RBIs. |
