Dave Nieto is one of those rare few, as he went 6-for-7 against the Grand Junction Rockies at UCHealth Park today. The monster effort from the 25-year-old center fielder helped the Rocky Mountain Vibes take the win, 22-6. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Rockies manager Juan Diaz. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Dave Nieto grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. On the year Nieto is hitting .367 with 79 hits, 15 home runs, 60 RBIs, .458 OBP and has scored 70 runs. |
