Phillies West Blank Braves, Langdell Winner Thursday, September 3rd , 2043 It wasn't easy but the Philadelphia W (GCL) Phillies West made it look that way. Starter Pat Langdell shut out the Atlanta (GCL) Braves despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Philadelphia W (GCL) Phillies West cruised to victory, 7-0. Langdell allowed only 5 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." So far this year, Langdell has 6 wins and 4 losses and a 2.59 ERA. |
