Yankees East Cruise to Round 3 with Sweep Monday, September 9th , 2041 With a 3-1 victory at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the New York A E (GCL) Yankees East have completed a sweep of the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays in the Round 2. "On to the Round 3 and feeling good," said Greg Eley. "I don't think our guys expected a sweep, but we'll certainly take it and rest up a bit." For the series, Eley hit .714 and won series MVP honors. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. The New York A E (GCL) Yankees East will play against the Philadelphia W (GCL) Phillies West in the next round. Philadelphia W (GCL) won their series against the Philadelphia E (GCL) Phillies East 2 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
