Brewers Gold End Sill Streak Sunday, July 24th , 2044 Dan Sill came rolling into today's game against the Milwaukee (AZL) Brewers Gold with a 21-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Oilers Ballpark. The 22-year-old Oakland (AZL) Athletics Gold shortstop went 0-for-3 against the Brewers Gold as the Athletics Gold fell, 5-0. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." This year, Sill is hitting .391, produced 18 RBIs and 5 home runs, scored 17 times and gotten on base at a .458 rate. |
