Gosnell Smacks 5 Hits for Tourists
Thursday, August 23rd , 2046
Tourists third baseman Ben Gosnell had his way with Columbia pitching at Segra Park and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Fireflies ruined his great day by toppling the Tourists, 13-8.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Columbia credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Gosnell did today," Fireflies skipper Jordan Wren said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Ben Gosnell hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season in 24 games, Gosnell is batting .355 with 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and has scored 20 times.
