5-for-6 Day for Maldonado Monday, June 27th , 2039 Kannapolis center fielder Rogelio Maldonado had a big day at L.P. Frans Stadium today against the Hickory Crawdads. The 26-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Cannon Ballers to a 11-2 triumph over Hickory. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Maldonado said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Rogelio Maldonado hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. On the year Maldonado has hit .384 with 2 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 42 runs. |
