Muniz Thwarts Montgomery, 10-0 Friday, August 18th , 2045 Juan Muniz kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Biloxi Shuckers were all smiles after winning, 10-0, against the Montgomery Biscuits at MGM Park. The right-handed Muniz gave up no runs in his start, permitted 5 hits, and tallied 11 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Muniz said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." Muniz has a 8-3 season record so far. In 19 starts, he has fanned 108 batters in 121 innings with a 3.57 ERA. |
