Hartford Blanks Thunder, Bennett Wins
Thursday, September 3rd , 2043
Pat Bennett shut out the Trenton Thunder, 5-0, on a 5-hit masterpiece for the Hartford Yard Goats at Dunkin' Donuts Park.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Hartford skipper Kevin Witt said afterward.
Bennett registered 5 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Trenton manager Brandon Boone after the defeat.
This season, Bennett has worked 188 innings with 165 strikeouts en route to a 12-7 record and a 3.06 ERA.
