Padres Lose to Giants, 5-4
|
San Francisco and San Diego duked it out and the Giants came out victorious.
No one was more impactful than Josh Holliday in the 5-4 San Francisco win over San Diego. Holliday went 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. San Francisco pitcher Jung-hoon Kim earned the win, hiking his record to 14-7. Ryan Van Gilder suffered the loss. Misael Quiroz got the save, his 27th in 37 chances.
Holliday contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for San Francisco in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Holliday took a changeup from Ryan Van Gilder and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Giants to leap in front, 4-3.
San Francisco manager Clayton M called it "a darn good win."
The victory puts San Francisco at 58-85.
