San Francisco Wastes Great Game by Gomez
|
The Cincinnati Reds weathered an outstanding game by San Francisco designated hitter Andy Gomez to topple the Giants, 7-6. Gomez went 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Andres Sanchez picked up the save, his 2nd. With the win, Cincinnati climbs to 9-11.
Cincinnati took a 7-5 lead on Tetsuzo Harada's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Harada hit in the bottom of the eighth, left San Francisco pitcher Chris Pfund shaking his head.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Harada told the Cincinnati News.
