Ramsey on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Lake Elsinore
Today at San Manuel Stadium, Steve Ramsey put on an impressive display.

The Inland Empire 66ers center fielder tagged Lake Elsinore pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Lake Elsinore Storm by the score of 9-4.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Ramsey said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the 66ers manager was unwilling to offer the center fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.

"Steve told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Jimmy Principe said.

Steve Ramsey struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Sam Taylor in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.


Ramsey is swinging at a .312 pace on the year with 10 home runs, 69 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He has played in 104 games.
