Fawcett Batters Tulsa Big Time
|
Travelers center fielder J.J. Fawcett had his way with Tulsa pitching at Dickey-Stephens Park and mauled them for 5 hits in 8 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Drillers ruined his great day by toppling the Travelers, 9-6.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Tulsa credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Fawcett did today," Drillers skipper Shaun Larkin said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
J.J. Fawcett singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Woods in the 9th, grounded out in the 10th, singled in the 12th and struck out in the 15th.
Currently Fawcett is batting .229 with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs.
