Grubb Pitches Erie to Shutout Victory
The Reading Fightin Phils manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Erie SeaWolves. The Fightin Phils were overpowered by Erie starter Pat Grubb, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Sean Gilroy said.

Over 9 innings, Grubb blanked Reading on 8 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Grubb said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

So far this season, Grubb has compiled a 12-3 record with a 2.78 ERA.
