Cardinals Dealt 3-2 Loss by San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Giants did just enough to sneak past the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-2, at Oracle Park. San Francisco pitcher Mançio Iwamoto, in particular, had a standout performance. The Giants now have a record of 72-90 with the win over St. Louis.
The Giants got a big hit from designated hitter Dan Renfro. In the bottom of the sixth, Renfro smacked a 3-run home run off St. Louis pitcher Manny Abrego. It was his 19th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Giants were ahead, 3-2.
"Mançio giving us the start that he did was huge," said San Francisco manager Tom T.
