|
The Texas Rangers topped the Los Angeles Angels, 5-2, with right fielder Jonathan Douglass playing a big role. Douglass went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Rangers in the win. The winning pitcher was Jeremy Stinnett. His record now stands at 17-10. The right-hander went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits for the Rangers. Mario Macias earned the save for Texas, his 46th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jeff Nolan? The Texas third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-0. For the game, Nolan had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
