Multi-HR Game for Hart in 16-5 Win
|
Texas and Seattle got after it at Globe Life Field.
The Texas Rangers trumped the Seattle Mariners, 16-5, at Globe Life Field. Texas designated hitter Ricky Hart was terrific. He hit 3 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored three times. Jack Pena, the winning pitcher, improved to 7-14. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2.
Hart contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Texas in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Hart took a fastball from Andy Callen and stroked the home run to center. His 53rd home run of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 2-1.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Hart said. "And the same is true when you lose."
The third-place Rangers have a record of 72-82.
