Blue Jays Collect 2-1 Win Versus Texas
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Globe Life Field, courtesy of Andres Sanchez. The left-hander helped his team stop the Texas Rangers, 2-1. Sanchez got the win, improving to 7-11. He gave up 8 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Aidan Bailey collected save number 29.
Toronto used the clutch hitting of Butch Simonis to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Blue Jays the lead, 2-1. For the game, Simonis had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Simonis.
The 4th-place Blue Jays improved to 61-91.
